There it is – the first ban of Uber-Pop. This happened, how could it be different, in Germany.
The reasons are insurance problems caused by the use of private cars and drivers without a relevant license, as well as the taxi drivers that feel deprived of their jobs. As well in other countries, a lot of criticism occurs regularly, but is usually thwarted in court. Even though it doesn’t seem perfectly planned yet, the concept of Uber can’t be completely wrong.
Uber founder Travis Kalanick has received more than $ 5.9 billion by different investors since 2009. No other enterprise in Silicon Valley has ever gotten that much money in such a short amount of time. If the company will strike back remains to be seen.
German Uber users find fault with the decision of the Regional Court in Frankfurt: in rural areas where public transport often is deficient, especially after 6 p.m. but also during rush hours in city centres, taxis are often lacking. A reserved Uber driver comes in really handy at that point. Furthermore, the question of the price has to be considered – Uber is definitely cheaper than a regular taxi. Is there a possibility for an alternative in Germany?
